Serena Williams broken heart by her boyfriend

Reviewed:
Although I like her much ,but it's not like I love her. It just cause her great prestation, credibility in Tennis.

Tennis star Serena Williams has poured out her heart on the break up of her relationship in an extraordinary internet blog just days before starting her defence of the first grand-slam tournament of the season.

In an emotional 600-word account on her official website, Miss Williams, 26, revealed how she fell in love only to have her heart broken when her boyfriend (who she doesn't name) stopped calling and finally told her he 'needed space'.

In a blog headlined 'Stand in these shoes (I'm sure u have before)', Miss Williams wrote of her experience meeting someone she wanted to 'spend every second' with.

"You can't stand being without each other", she wrote. "You start to feel like you have never felt before, and you do things for him you have never done before.

"He tells you he adores you. He tells you u guys were meant for each other. You care for him. You are falling for him.

"You take things slow. You don't want to make any mistakes. You are feeling this and you feel this could mean forever."

The despatch is all the more remarkable because the tennis star - currently in Melbourne for the start of the Australian Open on Monday - has until now, been famously silent on the subject of her love life.

She stopped short of naming the mystery man in her blog, potentially read by millions of fans around the world, but the tennis star had been linked to little-known U.S. actor and hip-hop artist Jackie Long.

In November, U.S. gossip columns also linked her to Chicago-born rapper Common after the pair had been spotted hand-in-hand.

Miss Williams goes on to write in the blog about how she dared to open her heart again, despite being jilted before.

"You start to trust him," she wrote. "Something you have not done since your first heartbreak. Something you vowed you would never do again.

"But slowly your heart comes out of its steel enclosure.

"Weeks turn into months and you no longer talk to anyone else, just him.
Who are the heartbreaker?

"And then it happens. Not the 'L' word. But what you have been most afraid of. 'What deep in your heart you have been afraid to confront. What you always suspected would happen one day sooner or later. HE STOPS CALLING."

Miss Williams said her man "disappeared for a week" before finally calling her.

She added: "As you begin to ask him what happened he stops you. He says 'I need space'.

"You cringe at these words. This is the very reason you begin to think why your heart was in that steel enclosure... because one day it always turns into this day."

Miss Williams then described going through a spell of self-blame and soul-searching over the relationship's collapse.

"Tears finally come and they make you feel a little better, but the pain is piercing through your soul", she wrote.

The blog, which was posted on Monday, shows a vulnerable side to the superstar, whose tough court demeanour took her to victory in last year's Australian Open.

Although dated January 2007, it is posted on a red background, distinctive from the rest of the blue-toned site, with the word 'new' flashing in the top corner.

It is believed the current world number seven made a typing error with the date and actually posted the blog last week.

The tennis star is believed to have recently split from Long, whose fledgling movie career peaked in 2006 with a supporting role in the US college drama ATL.

But the blog reveals she has not given up totally on love, although the break-up seems to have left her cynical

"Eventually you know you will try again," she wrote on the blog.

"And eventually you know you will find the keys to your heart, but also in the back of your mind your think ... it will happen again."

Next week's Australian Open won't be the first time she plays with a heavy heart.

In 2003 her half-sister Yetunde Price was shot dead in Los Angeles. Williams dedicated her victory in Melbourne last year to the murder victim, who she said had been with her in spirit through the final.

Miss Williams' spokesman was unavailable for comment yesterday, as fans began leaving messages of support on the website.

Thought that Serena Williams need victory and without spirit of her love, it didn't happen. Heart is the great winning right?

Self –esteem plays a key role in the maturity of a person, especially when trying to get away from a precarious situation, weathering a personal crisis or going through a series of trials in life – our normal responses to these circumstances and situations are governed by how we value ourselves and how our decisions are dictated by these conditions.

Faced with tough decisions in life, the more self- esteem one has- the better it is for that person to make sound decisions, even under the face of peer pressure or stress at work and at home. Let us try to look into some of the common and best practices which have been tried and tested to help boost self –esteem.

Always compliment yourself daily, especially by trying to look for specific tasks you did good for that day and congratulate yourself for it.

It will give you a regular motivation to work harder and better to improve yourself and develop your sense of maturity as a person. List down all things you are good at doing and achieving, be it a talent, skill, sport or building up other people.

You can add more focus to these good points and fuels our passion to do better and make you not only understand yourself more, but also give you the true meaning and measurement of self worth and this is how you see yourself as important.

Appreciation of one’s physical appearance and bearing can also be your source of self –esteem, be it the size and shape of your body, your overall physical structure or unique features.

Your body can be your source of pride and will help you understand how you would like others to see you, or work on your physical appearance to boost self –morale and satisfaction.

Although you may regard yourself as important or having a sound mind, there are just some things you cannot change.

Sometimes when you tend to see things in a different light or perspective from others, don’t focus too much on making sure that what you think will cause things to change- more oftentimes it will not, but don’t let that cloud your perception about yourself.

When you have good self –esteem you will realize that what you did was right and was made under your own good judgment, sound principles and concepts based on your personal outlook and attitude towards life.

Do not let negative feedback affect you. Of course, one cannot help but feel bad about negative comments or reactions, but you have to consider that these are tests against your character and personality. When your self –esteem is high, you are less likely to be affected by these situations.

So try to look at yourself and see, and if you feel less important or are not satisfied with how you see and look at things, then think about ways on how to boost your self –esteem- you’ll thank yourself for it.

Sometimes it may seem that some schools don’t give their kids enough real world education. There is also that underlying concern that they have no control over what their kids are learning and that they are relying blindly on their school. Nowadays parents are looking into online education as an alternative to develop their child’s self confidence and learning abilities and they wonder what the effect of self esteem on learning through the web.

The advantage of entering your child in private schools is the amount of tutoring your child gets but of course this also comes at a higher cost.

Learning Online

As more and more parents continue to find ways for their children to develop their self esteem and learning abilities, a new way learning has been opened through the internet. Learning online gives parents more control over what their children study and the cost is not even that expensive. Some examples of online learning institutions are the Online E-Course and Power of Success for Kids.

These courses are done in a multimedia setting which kids can complete online at the comfort and safety of their own homes and the flexibility of their time under their parent’s guidance. Since the course is in a multi media setting the kids are able to learn productively because of the combination of elements like texts, audio and video that make for an enjoyable and interesting experience. Confidence and Self Esteem

If you are confident about your abilities, then you have high self-esteem. This is not something you are born with but rather developed and with it, you can be a winner.

But how do you get it? Well, you start to build it up the moment you are born. If they raised you right, you will know what is right from wrong.

One way you will learn about that is to get disapproval sometimes for tasks that were not done properly. You can also get it for doing something that you were not supposed to do but if this was explained properly, you will know that this is something that must never be done. This will enable you to have good decision making skills because there are consequences for everything you do.

So you are confident to take certain risks, your parents will encourage you try things and then be there if things don’t work out. This will already teach you a little about your limitations and you will soon learn more of that in the future.

From here, you already get the idea that building your self-esteem is not always about winning. Sometimes you have to lose and face a few setbacks to make you a better person.

In sports, there is such a thing called sportsmanship. This is when you accept that you lost and shake your opponent’s hand. By being able to acknowledge the achievements of others, you will soon have the courage to try better and maybe next time, the outcome will be different.

Another thing that builds self-esteem is individuality. We are all born different. Some have dark skin while others are lighter. Some are taller while others are shorter. Self-esteem teaches us to accept who we are so we must never wish for things that we don’t have.

But are your parents the only ones that will make you feel confident and develop self-esteem? The answer is no because later on, you will go to school so this will also be further developed by your teachers and your friends.

In school, there are rules you need to follow similar to those that are done at home. With your friends, one of the challenges is not giving in to peer pressure but this is not easy since we want to fit in.

With the different people around, you might get confused who to believe. When this happens, you just have to trust your instinct. If you hear something bad, learn to ignore it and only accept what sounds good to your ears.

Confidence and self-esteem go hand in hand because without the other, you will not be able to appreciate who you are or even have the courage to take some risks. Do you have it? That is something you have to answer for yourself but one way you can assess yourself is to write down on a piece of paper your qualities and your accomplishments.

If you have not done that much in your life, it is never too late to start trying. If you need help, get the support of your family and friends. You can even get the help of a specialist who can figure out a plan to help you achieve your dreams which would not be possible without confidence and self-esteem.

Building Self Esteem In Teens

Is building self esteem for teens different from that of a child? The answer is yes because you are grown up already and you now have the responsibility of choosing between right and wrong. You can make decisions without consulting your parents every time and as long as you have positive self esteem, you will be able to make the right decisions.

One of the challenges of being a teen is that your friends will put a lot of pressure on you. If you decide to go against them, it could hurt your friendship with them which is why they sometimes do things that they don’t normally to make sure they belong with the “in crowd.”

If you give in to pressure, you have low self esteem. What is worse is that you could hurt yourself or someone else especially if you decide to start drinking below the required age, engage in sex practices when you are not ready, get addicted to drugs, join a gang or even quit school.

When you ask an adult or and a teen what is the definition of self esteem, both will say something different. For parents, this is the way we look at ourselves but to the teen, it is how they want people to look at who they are.

As you can see, the two answers don’t match and the reason for this is the age gap. Adults have already been through a lot in life and their experience has shown them the path. On the other hand, teens are still in that period of discovery and they will most likely commit a lot of mistakes before becoming more mature in their lives.

Given that both see it differently, it does not yet excuse the parents to try and steer their sons or daughters in the correct path. The best way to do that is to be open to their teens and be around when they are needed especially when they are confused.

For instance, if the teen wants to try a new sport, the parents should wish their kids well and hope that this will work out. If it doesn’t, they should be ready to comfort them and give them credit for trying.

If the teen gets into trouble, the parents will have to correct the improper behavior. While most parents scold their kids the instant something happens, they should remember that it is more effective to them like adults because they are no longer babies. By explaining to them what they did and making them understand the repercussions of their actions, they will not make the same mistake again.

But is it just the parents who build the self esteem of the teens? The answer is no because teachers should do their share when these individuals come to school. Of course there are rules that the student must abide by but by inspiring the teens to excel in their studies, the teacher can be sure that they will succeed in college and later on in life.

After all the support from the parents, the teachers and the friends, the teen will soon realize that they will be the ones that will have to develop their self esteem. The people around merely helped the individual realize who he or she is and if they want to succeed, they have to figure out what they have to do on their own.

Building Character Through Self-Esteem

Before people start to consider how self worth plays a key role in the development of character, many have forgotten that building character through self esteem is indeed one of the most important aspects of personality development.

As much as many people would hate to admit it, a more stronger foundation can be established with how a person builds character, especially when self worth is a primary factor in shaping and molding the values and virtues of a successful individual.

How is it so?

Studies reveal that self- esteem is the value of a person’s worth and there are a lot of factors that come into play, especially in helping a person fell more confident about himself, which is also a primary factor in establishing a person’s outlook towards ambition and success.

It is said that a person who is more confident about himself, the more focused and determined the person is to aim for achieving a better state in life, regardless of whether it be for career, success, ambition, family or personal attractiveness, among others.

To better understand and define self –esteem, it is simply holding one- self in high regard as a result of several factors that determine a person’s worth.

Self- esteem does not seem to regard one as perfect nor does it demand from a person to be faultless or blameless, rather, valuing the self as priceless or in high esteem.

This is what makes a person proud of himself or what makes them keep their head high in the face of tribulation or adversity and can be considered a measure of a persons degree of response to life’s circumstances, be it good or bad.

Self- esteem can also help a person make good choices, especially when it comes to personal development, better learning or physical beauty.

Self- esteem does not start at birth, but as a person’s consciousness develops and takes shape, this is when a person starts to measure himself as to his own value or worth.

It then shapes how a person looks at himself and compares or assesses himself with the environment or his surroundings and starts to ask himself, do people like me for being me? Do other people regard me as an example for others? How do other people look at me? My attitude and behavior towards life?

These are but some of the common questions that help man understand and gauge his value as a person.

People with low self –esteem are usually those who often do not regard themselves highly than they ought or are simply those who do not want to risk making sacrifices for the betterment of their own personalities and character.

Having good self –esteem is having the ability to make good choices and would less likely to follow a spur of the moment decision without carrying or thinking things through.

There is less likelihood that someone with a good sense of self –esteem make decisions that could lead to his own downfall by making the right decisions, taking to mind the value of his own personal feelings, safety, health and well- being.

A lot of people may tend to ignore or neglect what usually are some of the best measurements of achieving success or persistence in ambition than to explore the inner being, like how personality, outlook and attitude affect their course of life.

Building character through self –esteem is as equally important as the sense of ambition itself.

Natural Anti-Aging Treatment Ways

Acquiring years in your age is almost always synonymous to growing fines lines and wrinkles on your skin. To most women, it becomes an alarming call when the first few lines appear, especially as early as in the first 30's. If denied and neglected, these lines grow out until it becomes harder to treat with home remedy or simple anti-aging treatments. In this note, it is advised by the beauty experts that women get skin care application even before the first wrinkle lines appear. In this way, the lines and other skin aging signs are delayed for as long as possible.

There are various factors why it is so hard to keep our youthful skin. As people get older, the wind, sun, toxins in the environment, the food and beverage intake, and the lack of proper skin hydration take a major toll on the skin. Important skin natural structural proteins, such as collagens and elastins, start to diminish slowly causing the tissues and cells of the skin to fail recovering from damage; thus the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Several skin care treatment products might just work with you to counter these normal signs of aging, however, with the absence of proper skin care application all the anti-aging products will not matter.

To sport that youthful glow for as long as possible, you need to discover that the key is having a natural skin care treatment and using all natural skin care products even before you step in your 30's. These natural methods generally include checking the lifestyle you are dealing with. If you begin to examine your daily routine, you will discover how much this is affecting your skin.

Do you have eight hours of regular sleep?

Resting is a very important part of natural skin treatment. Doing it in at least six to eight hours of sleep should give your skin enough time to rest and recuperate from the day's stress and pressure. You should remember that it is essential to have a regular pattern of sleeping hours to achieve your youthful glow.

Is your skin hydrated properly?

This does not only mean using a good natural moisturizer to keep your skin feeling hydrated and smooth all over. It also involves drinking plenty of liquid and water everyday. Most experts recommend having eight glasses of water everyday to achieve that healthy youthful skin. In fact, it is the best, cheapest, yet simplest form of skin care anti-aging treatment you can ever have. If you hate drinking lots of water, you should at least constantly replenish the lost water on your skin by using a good moisturizer both on your face and body.

Is your skin frequently exposed to damaging sun rays and wind?

You need to know that long exposure to sunlight and wind can easily damage the skin. In this case, it is advised to stay out of the sun as much as possible. But if your daily activities require you to go out often, using sunscreens, sun block with good amount of PH level and moisturizers is the best way to counter the sun's and wind's damaging effects. When using the products, be sure to avoid those that contain alcohol as it can cause aging signs as well.

Is your anti-aging treatment product the right one for you?

If not, always look for the one that contain lots of antioxidants as they protect the important proteins that keep your skin supple and firm.

And the most important of all, do you feed your body with the right food?

What you eat, what you drink, and how much rest you get generally reflect on the outside, that is on your skin. Balancing the above natural anti-aging treatment methods with balanced healthy diet foods and good enough rest is the perfect way of putting those years behind.

Green Tea Protects Heart

There has been said a lot about the health benefits of green tea. But scientists keep discovering new facts. For example, they recently found selenium in green tea, on of the most beneficial microelements. Selenium in a balanced combination with zinc, potassium and other elements and vitamins amazingly keeps us young and sexually active. It is especially healthy in tandem with tocopherol (vitamin E). Besides, selenium has antioxidant properties which strengthen heart muscle.

To look deeper into the health benefits of green tea, a team of highly competent scientists from University of California conducted many full-fledged experiments. They studied eating patterns and lifestyles of over than 200 000 people. They also examined about 4 000 patients who suffered heart attack. Overall results revealed an interesting fact: green tea is an excellent protection for the blood vessels of heart. Analyzed data showed those who drank, at least, three cups of green tea every day were 20% less likely to have heart attack.
Note: According to health experts, unique health benefits of green tea are explained by its selenium content and other natural antioxidants which are perfectly balanced.

The motherland of tea is China. Both the plant and its decoction were called there “Cha”, which meant “young leaf”. Green tea is made out of the same plant as black tea, but the raw materials are handled in different ways. The tea infusion should be transparent, yellow-green. All teas made by different producers differ in the infusion color ranging from quite bright to pale. It’s also necessary to remember, that exceed sugar in tea infusion destroys vitamin B1.

Health Benefits of Green Tea

Experts explain green tea's potential benefits for everything from fighting cancer to helping your heart.

It's difficult not to gush about green tea.

More than a decade's worth of research about green tea's health benefits -- particularly its potential to fight cancer and heart disease -- has been more than intriguing, as have limited studies about green tea's role in lowering cholesterol, burning fat, preventing diabetes and stroke, and staving off dementia.

"I believe in green tea based on everything written about it," says Katherine Tallmadge, RD, LD, a nutritionist and spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association. "Green tea, white tea, black tea -- I like all of them."

Still, real-world evidence is lacking; most of the consistent findings about green tea's health benefits have come out of the lab.

The few large-scale human studies that have focused on green tea's impact on heart disease and cancer are promising, but many of those were conducted in the East, where green tea is a dietary mainstay. The outcomes are likely influenced by other lifestyle factors such as high consumption of fish and soy protein, says cardiologist Nieca Goldberg, MD, a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association and medical director of the New York University Women's Heart Center.

But Goldberg agrees with other health professionals: green tea has important antioxidants and compounds that help in maintaining good health.

Green Tea's Powerful Antioxidants

Green tea's antioxidants, called catechins, scavenge for free radicals that can damage DNA and contribute to cancer, blood clots, and atherosclerosis. Grapes and berries, red wine, and dark chocolate also have potent antioxidants.

Because of green tea's minimal processing -- its leaves are withered and steamed, not fermented like black and oolong teas -- green tea's unique catechins, especially epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), are more concentrated.

But there's still a question of how much green tea you need to drink to reap its health benefits. EGCG is not readily "available" to the body; in other words, EGCG is not always fully used by the body.

"We must overcome the issue of poor bioavailability [and other issues] in order to get the most out of their benefits," says Tak-Hang Chan, PhD, professor emeritus in the department of chemistry at McGill University in Montreal. Chan has studied the use of a synthetic form of EGCG in shrinking prostate cancer tumors in mice, with success.

Green Tea vs. Cancer

Marji McCullough, ScD, RD, the American Cancer Society's strategic director of nutritional epidemiology, says human studies haven't yet proven what researchers like Chan have discovered in the lab: green tea's EGCG regulates and inhibits cancer growth and kills cells that are growing inappropriately.

"Epidemiologically, one of the challenges is finding populations that drink enough green tea and have for a long time," she says. "With cancer, it's always difficult to find the exposure time," or the point at which cancer cells begin to develop.
